Summary : The Hydronic Specialist’s primary responsibilities include sales growth, promotional activities, new product introductions, problem resolution, employee and customer training on hydronic heating and cooling systems. Understanding that a combination of customer service excellence and maximized program promotion will drive sales, this position partners with sales management and Territory Managers to call on customers while identifying important changes in the competitive landscape.
Essential Job Duties
Hydronic Products
- Providing technical expertise and guidance on hydronic heating and cooling systems, including boilers, pumps, piping, valves, and controls.
- Stays up to date on the latest industry trends, products, and technologies related to hydronic systems.
- Collaborates with vendors and manufacturers to stay informed about new products or changes to existing product lines.
- Works in collaboration with the Product Manager to provide input on stock and non-stock Hydronic products.
- Partners with the management team on sales forecasting ensure proper stock of hydronic products.
- Assist customers with hydronic system layouts and specifications to ensure optimal performance.
- Analyzes and reviews the competitive market and presents findings to the management team.
- Partners with the marketing team on the best practices to market hydronic products.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Hydronic product lines with proficiency and detail.
- Occasionally, they visit job sites to provide hands-on support and system commissioning.
Sales
- Achieves company objectives for sales growth with existing customers.
- Achieves company objectives for new account sales.
- Assists in the preparation of and execution of the annual company sales plan.
- Responsible for upselling and cross-selling related products and accessories.
- Collaborates with the sales team to support customer needs, ensuring accurate product recommendations.
- Make customer calls independently and joint sales calls with staff or vendors as needed.
- Administers and executes customer sales incentive programs.
- Reviews and analysis of monthly and annual sales reports.
- Participates in and promotes vendor-based marketing programs with targeted vendors.
- Develops and executes the brand specific annual sales plan in conjunction with the director of sales and the marketing team.
Training
- Develop training plans for current staff on all hydronic products and accessories.
- Supports customer education and training initiatives including product, technical, and business-related classes.
Pricing
- Participates in the creation of an annual competitive pricing analysis that includes a market review and formal submission to applicable vendors.
- Acts at the gatekeeper who sets quantity pricing or special pricing based on customer needs.
Marketing
- Presents marketing programs to customers that include promotions, flyers, specials, training, etc. as directed.
- Demonstrates proficiency and knowledge in all marketing programs, promotions, and support available from all vendors.
- Completes pricing studies as required.
- Communicates dealer pricing and price sheets to customers as required.
Other
- Travel as needed.
- Attend training sessions as required.
- Demonstrates proficiency in vendor computer programs and websites.
- Maintains proficiency with company computer systems in aspects related to job, such as data entry, messaging, call logs, data notations, queue updates, batching, or other job and office functions and requirements.

Minimum Job Requirements
- High School diploma or its GED equivalent and some college coursework in Business or related field.
- 3 or more years’ experience with HVAC, sales, and related functions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
