Job Title: Cardiac Device Specialist

Pay rate: $50 to $55/hr on W2

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiac Device Specialist to join our Outpatient Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) team. This role is ideal for someone with Cath Lab Tech (RCIS) experience or similar expertise in cardiac implantable electrical devices (CIEDs). Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Cardiac Device Specialist will be responsible for the thorough and proficient interrogation, interpretation, and re-programming of CIEDs, both in-person and remotely via phone transmission. The individual will also provide initial device analysis, generate preliminary reports, and escalate urgent issues to the appropriate physician or non-physician practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Device Interrogation & Re-programming: Interrogate, interpret, and re-program CIEDs with minimal physician supervision, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve critical device issues immediately, escalating when necessary.
  • Physician Collaboration: Work closely with physicians to review device status, ensuring accurate documentation of device analysis in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on all aspects of their cardiac devices, including remote monitoring and follow-up protocols.
  • Accurate Charging & Documentation: Ensure accurate capture of charges for device interrogation and maintain detailed records.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule follow-up device appointments in the EMR and remote website. Proactively contact "no show" patients to re-schedule.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Assist nurses and non-physician practitioners in delivering patient education and fostering a collaborative clinical environment.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to associated offices for assigned device clinics.
  • Maintenance of Equipment: Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and notify appropriate personnel of any issues or safety concerns.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure programming rooms are stocked with the necessary supplies.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional development activities, maintain relevant certifications, and stay up to date on industry best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute ideas for process improvements and assist in creating solutions to enhance workflow.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least one year of recent experience in reviewing and managing both in-person and remote device transmissions.
  • Clinical Exposure: Some clinical experience with cardiology is required.
