Job Description

A leading global law firm is seeking an experienced Director of Administration to oversee day-to-day operations, support services, and facilities for its New York office. This senior leadership role partners closely with firm leadership to ensure operational excellence, space optimization, team performance, and a positive, service-driven office culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily office operations, ensuring adherence to firm policies and consistent delivery of high-level support services.
  • Manage space planning, lease agreements, office moves, and coordination with building management.
  • Oversee local office budgeting and financial tracking, including forecasting and expense review.
  • Supervise support staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and development.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and analyze cost-effectiveness across major services.
  • Support firmwide initiatives at the local level, ensuring alignment with national and global standards.
  • Lead office culture initiatives including events, charitable efforts, and community-building activities.
  • Serve as a communication liaison for financial compliance updates and policy changes.
  • Ensure a safe, productive, and professional work environment in alignment with workplace trends.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive office operations or administration experience, preferably in a professional services or legal environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with staff supervision, budgeting, vendor management, and space planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to client service and team development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Solid understanding of HR practices, office technology, and budgeting principles.
