Job Description

An international manufacturer of industrial machine tools is seeking a Field Service Engineer in the Arlington Heights, IL area to maintain their products. Ideal candidates will gain vital experience with industrial-grade machine tool equipment on customer sites. Due to the travel needs, a valid passport and driver’s license with good driving record are required. This is a direct-hire position and offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance and 401(k).

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Travel to customer locations to provide installations/repairs to Machine Tool Equipment in service circulation in commercial and industrial settings
• Assist with in-house maintenance services, such as modification and reassembly of equipment as needed
• Train customer personnel on function and upkeep of equipment
• Perform phone support duties in-office when not traveling
• Communicate with engineering department to help customer inquiries
• Be on call for emergency maintenance needs
• Other duties as assigned

Field Service Engineer Qualifications Include:

• Higher degree in Engineering or similar technical field preferred
• Valid passport, driver’s license, and clean driving record are required
• Willing and available for up to 90% travel to customer locations
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, industrial machine tools, and various mechanical and electrical components
• Exemplary customer service skills and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally
• Spanish and / or Japanese language ability is a plus but not required
• This position includes work in a manufacturing and warehousing environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
