A private equity-backed HVAC and electrical services business is seeking a General Manager to lead the company through a full transformation—driving operational scale, cultural change, and long-term growth. This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role with full autonomy and direct access to equity. You’ll be taking a solid platform and building it into a scalable, service-led business.

The Portfolio Company

The business is a well-established provider of HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing services across both residential and commercial markets. With a loyal customer base and strong local presence, the company is now shifting from project-based revenues to a service-driven recurring model. Investments in technology, leadership, and operational excellence are central to this transformation.

The Private Equity Firm

The sponsor is a middle-market investor with a strong track record of growing businesses through operational improvement and bolt-on M&A. They are hands-on, commercially minded, and fully committed to building scalable, high-performing platforms.

The Culture

The business is in transition and ready for change. Employees are motivated, but the company needs structured leadership, a professionalised culture, and better systems. The role requires someone who can “build the car while driving it” and thrive in an environment of fast-paced change and lean execution.

What Success Looks Like

• Build a strong, engaged, and accountable leadership team
• Shift business from project-based work to recurring service revenue
• Drive adoption of new systems (ServiceTitan + Sage Intacct)
• Increase employee engagement and reduce turnover
• Create scalable, repeatable operational processes
• Leverage the customer base to grow residential HVAC services

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Own the P&L and deliver business plan and budget
• Lead and mentor the leadership team through cultural and operational change
• Drive CRM and financial system implementation (ServiceTitan and Sage Intacct)
• Rebuild stakeholder relationships across builder and commercial networks
• Drive accountability, KPI management, and structured reporting
• Ensure scalability of operations to support future M&A

Candidate Profile

• Proven GM/President with full P&L ownership ($10M+ revenue)
• Deep HVAC and Plumbing experience
• Strong track record in residential services
• Experience with transformation, playbook execution, and turnaround
• Private equity experience preferred (or high-growth/entrepreneurial background)
• Tech-savvy – ideally with ServiceTitan and Sage Intacct exposure
• Hands-on, gritty leader with high EQ, clear gravitas, and strong operational discipline

Compensation Package

• Base Salary: $160,000 – $200,000
• Bonus: $50,000 based On EBITDA
• Equity: Yes
• 401(k): Yes
• Healthcare: Yes

A Full Relocation package will be expensed.
