Job Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our dynamic, growing marketing team. As a designer, you will play a key role in creating visually compelling designs and assets to support the marketing strategies for the companies within our corporate portfolio, which spans industries such as material handling, terminal automation, supply chain, and sports & entertainment.

This role involves hands-on work across various design projects, including digital and print collateral, branding initiatives, and multimedia content creation. You'll work closely with the marketing team to bring concepts to life and enhance brand identity. Comfort with cross-functional collaboration and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in developing artwork for large format projects and production of print materials.

This role is located on-site at our Homewood, IL headquarters.

Essential Functions

  • Design and produce a wide range of marketing materials, including but not limited to print ads, brochures, literature, promotional items, and occasional environmental graphics.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling visual content that aligns with brand guidelines and communicates key messaging across various print formats.
  • Develop artwork for large format projects, including banners, signage, and trade show displays, ensuring quality and consistency across all pieces.
  • Prepare print-ready files and work closely with vendors to ensure accurate and high-quality production of print materials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and produce sales collateral, including literature, promotional items, and other materials for events and customer engagement.
  • Review and proof all printed materials to ensure they meet quality standards, ensuring proper color accuracy, layout, and formatting.
  • Support marketing efforts by creating customer-tailored presentations, proposals, and other ad-hoc print materials as needed.
  • Maintain and organize design files, ensuring proper naming conventions, and version control. Experience with sales portals or other assets portals is a plus.
  • Ensure the timely and cost-effective production of print materials, managing vendor relationships and negotiating pricing as needed.
  • Occasionally assist with the operation of in-house production equipment such as large format printers, cutters, and laminators to support time-sensitive projects.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in print design, incorporating fresh ideas and innovation into all projects.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Arts, or a related field.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. PremierPro and AfterEffects a plus.
  • Proven experience (2-5 years) in graphic design, with a strong focus on print design, including general collateral and literature, print advertisements, signage, and large format graphics.
  • Strong understanding of print production techniques and preparation, including familiarity with screen printing, digital printing, large format printing, and other methods such as etching, embroidery, and spot UV.
  • Experience in preparing print-ready artwork, ensuring proper file formats, color profiles, and bleeds.
  • Familiarity with brand guidelines and a keen eye for maintaining brand consistency across printed materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple design projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience working with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems to organize and access design assets.

The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location. Physical And Environmental Elements

This is primarily a sedentary office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports and records that typically weigh less than 25 pounds.
