Job Description

Employbridge has a client in Austin, TX who is looking for an HR Director to join their team! This is a brand new location, so they are looking for someone who wants to help grow this division from the ground up, put new processes and benefits in place and is open for a challenge.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to support the growth, goals and success of the U.S. headquarters and manufacturing operations.
  • Oversee all HR operations, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, compliance, expatriate management, and any other areas as needed
  • Advise senior management on organizational development, workforce planning, and talent management initiatives.
  • Design and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with U.S. federal and state regulations while maintaining global consistency
  • Manage and Implement recruitment efforts for critical roles across the U.S. headquarters and manufacturing plants, building a robust talent pipeline.
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and integration of expatriate employees from China into the U.S. workforce.
  • Enhance the company’s employer brand in the U.S. to attract high-caliber professionals
  • Develop and oversee competitive compensation and benefits programs tailored to the U.S. market, including salary structures, bonuses, and benefits such as health insurance and 401(k) plans.
  • Research and implement competitive compensation and benefits policies for employees, ensuring compliance with legal and tax requirements.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive workplace culture that boosts employee engagement and reflects the company’s core values.
  • Ensure adherence to U.S. labor laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, EEO) and address employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary processes.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to foster a supportive environment for all employees.
  • Implement training initiatives, including onboarding, skill development, and leadership programs, to enhance employee performance.
  • Facilitate cross-cultural training to strengthen collaboration between U.S. and Chinese teams.
  • Oversee visa and immigration processes (e.g., H-1B, L-1 visas) for employees and their families.
  • Manage employee benefits, such as international health insurance, housing allowances, and dependent education support.
  • Provide ongoing assistance to expatriates to ensure their success and well-being in the U.S.
  • Lead the HR team in maintaining accurate HR data and using analytics to drive strategic decisions.
  • Manage the implementation and optimization of HR information systems (HRIS) to support data integrity and global reporting.
  • Deliver HR reports to senior leadership, highlighting metrics like turnover rates, recruitment efficiency, and training outcomes.
  • Work closely with the global HR team in China to align policies, processes, and best practices
  • Maintain regular communication between U.S. and global HR teams to address challenges and share insights.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record in a multinational company, ideally within manufacturing or automotive sectors.
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with our global HR team in global headquarters
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing HR across multiple locations, including headquarters and production facilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in expatriate programs and cross-cultural team management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance global and local priorities.
  • Proficiency in compensation design, talent management, and employee relations.
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience thriving in diverse, multicultural settings.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and data analytics tools.
