Role Overview

The Regulatory Affairs Professional will be responsible for monitoring compliance, engaging with government agencies, and influencing policies that impact the company’s energy, transportation, and charging infrastructure initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in regulatory frameworks, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance and advocate for favorable policy outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track, analyze, and interpret regulatory policies, laws, and industry trends affecting operations in California.
  • Engage with state and local regulatory agencies, including the California Air Resources Board (CARB), California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and California Energy Commission (CEC).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business strategies with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and documentation as required.
  • Represent the company’s interests in public hearings, policy discussions, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Identify regulatory risks and opportunities related to business expansion and product development.
  • Support internal teams in navigating environmental, transportation, and energy regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Law, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, government relations, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of California’s regulatory landscape in energy, transportation, and sustainability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in regulatory advocacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with government agencies and regulatory bodies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in the electric vehicle, renewable energy, or utility sector.
  • Knowledge of emissions regulations, clean energy policies, and transportation electrification programs.
  • Experience drafting regulatory filings or policy briefs.
