Role Overview:
This role involves conducting diagnostic testing on specimens such as blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids, utilizing both manual techniques and automated instruments. The primary objective is to deliver precise and timely test results to support clinical decision-making and patient treatment. The individual also acts as a technical reference point for colleagues and may take on supervisory responsibilities within specific laboratory areas.
Frequent interaction is required with diverse groups including hospital personnel, clinicians, external clients, patient families, sales professionals, and service technicians. The role serves as a representative of the laboratory through various communication channels, such as phone calls and faxes, in support of internal and external stakeholders.
This position also supports overall management activities within the laboratory setting—whether located within the main hospital or at a satellite emergency facility. Responsibilities include oversight of technical operations, budgetary matters, and administrative workflows to maintain smooth and compliant functioning of all laboratory services. The focus is on ensuring high-quality diagnostic output in accordance with industry regulations, internal guidelines, and recognized professional standards.
