Job Description

Russell Tobin & Associates is supporting a world-class organization that has an opening for "Packaging Design Engineer"

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full packaging design lifecycle: concept, development, documentation, testing, and release.
• Work closely with suppliers to bring packaging concepts to reality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Industrial Design, Product Managers, Engineering, User Experience, Marketing, Operations, and Logistics across multiple regions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering , Packaging Engineering , or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Hands-on experience with a variety of consumer packaging materials (e.g., paperboard, molded pulp, plastics, foams).
• Proficient in 2D and 3D packaging design tools , such as:
• ArtiosCAD for structural packaging design
• SolidWorks or NX for 3D modeling
• TOPS and CAPE for palletization and shipping optimization

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant packaging design experience
• Proven leadership in managing packaging project timelines, quality, and cross-functional coordination
• Strong understanding of logistics and operations and how they impact packaging design and material selection
• Familiarity with sustainable packaging design , materials, and international testing standards (e.g., ASTM, ISTA)
• Experience developing packaging for high-volume manufacturing
• Understanding of tooling design , lead times, and production processes for packaging components
• Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments
• Proficiency in rendering software such as Keyshot for visual presentations of packaging designs

Additional Information:

Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid role)

Pay range: $70-$75/hr. on W2

Duration: 6+months

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
