Job Description

Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc., a locally owned firm, is currently seeking a highly talented, detail oriented, Professional Land Surveyor with 5+ years experience to join the Evans-Graves team in our Baton Rouge, LA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management, survey production, schedules and budgets for surveying and engineering projects undertaken by the firm.

This is an excellent career opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to join a team of outstanding professionals and a well-established firm and lead the surveying department to continued success. Primary Duties to be performed by the successful applicant include the following:

  • Provide survey planning, computations, data management, and field survey crew supervision
  • Working in a team environment on multiple civil related projects
  • Schedule, manage, supervise, manage data, and instruct field survey crews
  • Prepare, check, and provide quality assurance of survey maps, plats, ALTA’s, subdivision and Right-of-Way maps, LOMA’s, Grade Certificates, and other surveying maters
  • Participate in field surveys when required and provide training to field crews
  • Coordinate with other surveyors, engineers, designers, technical employees, outside consultants, and clients involved in aforementioned projects
  • Assist in procurement of required regulatory agency approvals
  • Assist, review, and provide quality control of plans, specification, studies, quantity and cost estimates performed by other professionals at Evans-Graves
  • Coordinate with company personnel and subcontractors during the construction phase of projects
  • Prepare and/or review periodic project billings
  • Assist and cooperate with company management, with the overall management, and new business development of the firm. This may include participation in technical proposals and oral presentations
  • Ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness approaches to project development requiring coordination with field survey personnel and CAD personnel
  • Help to instill a cooperative, yet profitable work climate, both internally and company wide
Position Requirements
  • Louisiana Professional Land Surveyor licensure (PLS) required
  • 5+ years of experience in professional surveying for civil related projects; preferably 2+ years as a PLS
  • CAD based civil design software experience necessary (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley Inroads Survey)
  • Survey equipment and data management software experience necessary (Trimble business center or equivalent)
  • Windows 10 / Microsoft Office experience including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
