Job Description

DESCRIPTION: The Senior Publicist will lead client VIP and media strategies, securing high-impact placements and press coverage across fashion and lifestyle publications. Within the VIP and media relations sphere, this role involves outreach for celebrity/VIP dressing and placements and pitching and managing press coverage. Strong communication, multitasking, and relationship-building skills are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Daily outreach for gifting requests, appearances and events across VIP, influencer and editorial targets.

· Provide support to Sr. Director for both day-to-day and long-term responsibilities

· Daily management of Jr. Publicist, overseeing sample trafficking, press requests, agendas, recap notes and next steps, media list management, and reporting to ensure streamlined operations.

· Oversee maintenance of VIP calendar of events, target lists, contact databases, client notes and weekly/monthly reports

· Create pitches, service media releases and manage press coverage

· Develop targeted media lists for brand news, product launches and event coverage.

· Oversee stylist and editor relationships to secure appointments for sample needs

· Work collaboratively with senior management to gain an understanding of the client's image, ideals, and goals

· Serve as key day-to-day contact with clients and LA industry contacts

· Provide consistent, professional, and diligent client experience while managing client expectations

· Lead cross-functional collaboration with KCD’s event, digital, and creative teams to maximize PR impact.

· Manage client events while seamlessly collaborating with their in-house team for on-site support from large events to press days

· Work with the Guest Relations team on front-of-house services, as needed

· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, including editors, journalists, and industry leaders.

· Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, identifying new opportunities for client exposure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong work ethic and innovative thinking

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and media pitches.

· Strong time management and multitasking abilities, capable of overseeing multiple client accounts and initiatives without losing focus under pressure.

· A keen understanding of the VIP and Entertainment industry i.e. press, music labels, talent representatives, designers, digital influencers and established and emerging stylists

· Fluency with the national fashion media landscape across VIP, editorial, digital, events, influencer and new media.

· Ability to work independently and self-motivate, as well as work collaboratively with varying teams

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office & experience with media tracking platforms (Launchmetrics) is preferred. 

  REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum of 4-5+ years of experience VIP services, media relations within fashion, luxury or entertainment.

· A bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications or Public Relations

· Ability to travel as needed

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

· Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Experience using creative software of Adobe Creative Suite
