Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Construction Contracts Manager for a contract job with a client in Melville, NY, but open to Syracuse or Utica, NY

Rate Range: $50/hour to $70/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

NOTES:

-Construction experience, gas/pipeline

-Heavy Industrial Experience

-10-100 million dollar projects

-Needs to hit the ground running.

-Other experience or background - Engineering, Law, Architecture

-80% of the role will be contract management, change order reviews, drafting for bid events, data, and analysis.

-Understanding of P6 scheduling would be nice as well.

JOB DETAILS:

The Contract Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of contract management for natural gas construction projects. This role involves managing changes to the contract, negotiating contract terms, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and managing relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction law and contract negotiation, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and negotiate change orders with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

• Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and legal requirements.

• Monitor project progress and manage contract changes and amendments.

• Collaborate with project managers to ensure alignment between contract terms and project execution.

• Resolve disputes and claims related to contracts promptly.

• Maintain accurate records of contracts, correspondence, and project documentation.

• Provide guidance and support to project teams on contract-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.

• Ability to quantify changes to a construction contract through performing construction drawing take-offs, researching contract terms and engineering specifications, and performing CPM delay analyses.

• Proven experience as a Contract Manager in the natural gas/LNG, utility, or industrial construction industries.

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, laws, and regulations.

• Strong knowledge of CPM schedule methodology.

• Excellent business and legal writing skills.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

• Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
