Job Summary: Under supervision, provides messenger services for all departments following standard procedures and designated time schedules. Essential Responsibilities: This description is for recruitment posting purposes only. It has not received full HR review and approval. - Provides messenger and delivery service for all departments by collecting, sorting and delivering items such as mail, charts, pharmaceuticals, x-ray film and packages as indicated by delivery instructions written on items - Obtain additional delivery information from telephone directory, hospital census records or verbally from Personnel Office to ensure correct delivery of items as necessary - Maintain and operate electric postage meter machine by adding ink and adjusting manual controls - Telephone for repair service to correct malfunctions as required - Update physician locator file for the Inland Counties area facilities obtained from various items such as mail, charts, pharmaceuticals, x-ray film and packages as indicated by delivery instructions written on items - Perform other duties as required such as, but not limited to, assist or replace absent departmental personnel - Determine weight of parcels and other mail with mechanical scale and corresponding dollar amount of postage from conversion chart - Promotes, ensures and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality service Basic Qualifications: Experience - Must attach a current CQA driver record information sheet, obtained within the last month - During the two (2) year period immediately proceeding the data of application, must have a driving record which is free of incidents involving applicants negligence - Also, free of citations with forfeit for bail for driving while under the influence of drugs or reckless driving - Driving record must not reflect more than two moving violations during the same two (2) year period - License and driving record will be verified Education + N/A License, Certification, Registration + Driver's License (California) Additional Requirements: + N/A Preferred Qualifications: + N/A Notes: + This is a temporary position for approximately 6 months. + Variable shift depending on the department's operational needs.
