POSITION OVERVIEW

Colorado High School Charter GES is seeking a MLE Student Support Liaison who will build strong relationships with students and families and help remove barriers to academic success through attendance intervention, social-emotional support, and community connection. This role is critical to supporting student engagement, improving academic outcomes, and cultivating a school culture grounded in high expectations and strong support systems. The ideal candidate is bilingual (Spanish/English), deeply committed to equity and inclusion, a self-starter, and thrives in a fast-paced, student-centered environment. This position will play a critical role on the Student Success Team and Intervention Teams and focus on driving both attendance and achievement outcomes for a caseload of students.

Key Responsibilities

Student Caseload & Engagement

  • Build trusting relationships with a caseload of students and serve as a consistent point of contact for academic, behavioral, and emotional support, with particular attention to multilingual learners and their families.
  • Track student progress and use data to proactively identify and intervene when students disengage.
  • Collaborate with the Student Support Team and Instructional Team to develop individualized intervention and engagement plans.

  • Attendance
  • Monitor daily attendance and implement interventions using a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework.
  • Conduct root cause analyses to understand patterns of chronic absenteeism and collaborate on solutions with students, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate as an Intervention Team to increase attendance, reduce truancy, eliminate dropouts, and improve academic performance.

  • Academic Support
  • Support students in academic recovery efforts, including hosting after-school study halls and coordinating credit recovery plans.
  • Partner with the MLE Coordinator, ISA Team, teachers, and paraeducators to support language learners in the classroom and ensure language access through best practices in sheltering instruction.
  • Coordinate with the ESS Department to ensure individualized paths to success for students.

Family & Community Engagement

  • Engage families through regular phone calls, in-person meetings, home visits, and event participation.
  • Serve as a bridge between home and school by ensuring families are informed, supported, and connected to school and community resources.
  • Lead or co-lead Family Nights, New Student Orientation, Community Meetings, Honor Roll Celebrations, Service Learning, and support schoolwide communication and outreach efforts.

Culture & Restorative Practices

  • Promote a positive school culture by modeling professionalism, care, and consistency in all student interactions.
  • Lead and support restorative justice practices to build community and respond to conflict in productive, student-centered ways.
  • Uphold high expectations while supporting students with dignity, empathy, and accountability.

Transitions & Enrollment Support

  • Collaborate with DPS and district transition officers to support student entry and re-entry, particularly for students returning from out-of-school placements.
  • Support the enrollment and onboarding of new students, ensuring smooth transitions into the CHSC community.

Operations & Supervision

  • Assist with setting up, serving, and closing up breakfast and lunch service for students.
  • Monitor halls and campus during designated supervision shifts to ensure student safety.
  • Serve as a proctor for testing throughout the school year, including P/SAT, MAP, and ACCESS assessments.
  • Other duties as assigned by the School Leadership Team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to equity, cultural responsiveness, and student-centered support
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-through
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual – Spanish/English strongly preferred
  • Experience in secondary education, youth development, or program coordination
  • Experience working with diverse and historically underserved student populations
  • Familiarity with Infinite Campus and intervention frameworks such as MTSS
