Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and manage the QA department within a fast-paced food or beverage manufacturing environment! The ideal candidate will ensure production of high-quality products at the lowest cost, while meeting customer demands and maintaining a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead total quality compliance from raw materials through to finished goods.
  • Oversee sanitation protocols, including CIP systems, water treatment, and stormwater management.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements and maintain all necessary permits.
  • Manage accuracy and efficiency of water processing, batching operations, QA testing, and associated record-keeping.
  • Enforce proper sanitation and housekeeping standards.
  • Monitor and respond to federal, state, and internal audit communications, implementing changes as necessary.
  • Support operations management with process troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including operations and sales, to drive improvements in product quality.
  • Prioritize safety and compliance within the QA team.
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget.
  • Oversee third-party vendors to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; a degree in Food Science or a technical field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality management experience in the food or beverage manufacturing industry is required .
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing management principles and supply chain integration.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and process improvement initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to food safety, environmental health, and workplace safety.
  • Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, statistical process control, and lab best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or HACCP coordination.
  • Background in managing departmental budgets, vendor compliance, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Experience with SPC software and project management.
  • Proven leadership in managing teams and change within a manufacturing environment
