Job Description

The Laurel Group is a premier landscape design/build firm, located on the prestigious North Shore of Long Island, in historic Huntington Village and in the Hamptons. Our award-winning in-house landscape designers develop comprehensive plans and budgets for complete outdoor environments.

We are currently seeking a pool of  Landscape Designers  with at least 2 years of Landscape Design experience to grow with us. Several  full time positions available.   • Perform site analysis that include assessment, photos, field measuring of existing site conditions.
  • Work with the Lead Designer/Salesperson to create a finished Landscape design with hard and soft scape elements
  • Prepare project estimates which include getting bids from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Write budgets and contracts with the aid of the estimating program
  • The ability to communicate well both with clients and other professionals of the industry.
  • Review plans, proposed changes and any other necessary documents
  • Prepare and attain permits for jobs, when necessary
  • Keep records, including everything from correspondence to reports

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in landscape design
  • Between 2 and 7 years of experience working for a Landscape Design firm or Landscape Architect
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience with CAD for landscape design presentations
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience with Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Valid Driver’s license

Additional helpful qualification/experience

  • Use of Photoshop for design
  • Knowledge of horticultural science and construction techniques
  • Knowledge of Excel/Word formulas and formatting
  • Knowledge of 3D design illustrations
  • Ability to proofread and check own work for accuracy
  • Landscape Design experience required.
